Just reading through the sidebar of the blog, to my personal message of welcome, I list some books I read recently. Having done that list about 3 months ago, it's woefully out of date.
1) Devil May Care by Sebastian Faulks, writing as Ian Fleming.
Even though it's been terribly received by a lot of people, I read it anyway. I mean, come on, it's a James Bond book for God's sake, I have to read it. Overall I found it very enjoyable, despite some stupid moments. 7.5/10
(For those of you who aren't familiar with the backround, DMC was released on May 28th, 2008, which is 100 years to the day that Ian Fleming, creator of 007 was born. Faulks was commissioned by the Ian Fleming Foundation (IFF) to write a Bond novel)
2) First Impressions by Jeffrey Archer
Mom was the one who actually brought this on holiday with her, but thoroughly enjoyed it and recommended it to me because it "was so like a James Bond novel" (how she'd know I've never asked her). I decided to leaf through the pages and I discovered that, yes, it was very very like an espionage novel! 10/10
3) 'Salem's Lot by Stephen King
This is an unusual book, I'm not talking about the plot or the characters, but just the type. It's 500 pages long, but it doesn't really get interesting until about 200 pages in, which is annoying. But, I suppose, then, at page 350, it becomes the type of book I'd happily stay up until 5 AM reading. Apart from some bits I found difficult to understand, and some bits I generally found stupid, for the most part I enjoyed it. 7.5/10
Have you been affected by any of the books in this blogpost? Have you read any of the books in his blogpost? Based on the books in this blogpost, can you make any recommendations as to what I should read next?* Have you read any or all of the books in this blogpost and completely (dis)agree with my rankings?
Tell me in a comment!
* Leave me a recommendation, but it could be awhile before I read it, as it was my birthday recently and I got about 10 books, I have a waiting list of sorts, so I have to read them in order.
P.S. Providence is kind! Just as I wrote this, my thigh* vibrated to tell me that O'Mahony's have managed to order in my copy of The Hunchback of Notre Dame and it's ready for collection.
* See last blogpost
P.P.S. I've decided to include another note on the sidebar with recently read books, and hopefully I'll update it regularly

Spy thrillers, you say. I would suggest 54 by Wu Ming. Which you can get for free if you know where to look.
