Yesterday, we (my stage group) put on a show, after a week long course in which we worked our asses off getting a show ready. We'd start at 10:15 at finish around 5 ish. It was a long day, but it was engaging and brilliant fun.

We began at 7:40. The director said a few words, and we began with the pirate scene. They did well, and 10 minutes later, the dance crew took over with Dirty Dancing's "The Time of My Life".

My act was the third one. The interval was just before mine began, so I had plenty of time to bring my props on, etc. We were all in position with five minutes to spare, so the guy acting opposite me wasted no time in engaging me in polite, calm conversation about how funny it'd be if the curtains, the lights and the catwalk all fell down at the same time. Wouldn't it? Tell me your opinion in a comment.

I had one of Mom's medical books, a sheet of paper and a stolen pen (The fact that it was stolen had no bearing on the story, but I found it on a chair and needed it, so I took it) For my first victim patient, I needed a nail box, which was impersonating a box containing a bell, a slip of paper that in the script was 3 feet long, but for the show was closer to 3 inches and a paper bag. One of the biggest laughs of the night came when they guy walked off trying to hold everything.

With thirty seconds to go, he wasted no time in telling me how he fully planned to jump into the crowd and ride it as an exit and I was still chortling as the curtains opened.

As the director later said, I topped the 4 acts with the most number of laughs, at 17
