On Monday night, at WWDC, (WorldWide Developers Conference) Steve Jobs announced iPhone 2.0. It's $200 cheaper, 3G, a flush headphone jack and has higher audio quality. It's released on July 11th, four days into when I'm in France, so I think what I'll do is find out what network they're releasing it in France, and then buy it from them. The problem arises if everyone follows the way of 02 Ireland and refuses to sell the iPhones without signing a contract with the devil for a minimum of 18 months.

If that happens, we first check if any iPhone V. 1s are available still in Northern Ireland. That and hope they don't get suspicious. I doubt they'd just toss 'em in the bin, so I expect that they'll keep them for a week at least. So I need to find out as soon as possible if they can be sold. If they can, I buy in France, if not, I have to hope that they don't get rid of them of in Northern Ireland before I get back.

By the way, even if I'm right, one way or another, Apple could have fixed the jail-breaking/unlocking ability. ;-)

This entire problem wouldn't be an issue if o2 Ireland weren't twats.

Actually, that reminds me, what I could do is switch onto o2, because they are selling it....
